Yard Clean-up
Fall / Winter
- If you have a fescue lawn, it is important to remove leaves from the lawn and not let a heavy covering of leaves stay on the lawn for too long as fescue does not go dormant in winter.
- If you have a bermuda lawn, a sporadic covering of leaves will not harm the lawn. If it is a thick covering of leaves, you'll want to remove the leaves before Spring.

- Leaf removal as needed.
- Remove weeds from lawns, garden beds and vegetable gardens.
- If you have roses, pay special attention to removing any foilage with mildew so that it does not foster disease over the winter.
- Following the last havest of your vegetables, remove plants, debris and till or turn over the whole plot. Adding a layer of compost, mulch or mulched leaves to nurture your soil for Spring planting is an added bonus.
- Trim trees, prune bushes and clean out debris.
- Clean out gutters, unfasten hoses and prepare for first freeze.
- Rake out excess leaves from garden beds and lawns.
- Mulch garden beds (mulched leaves can be used instead of or in addition to store-bought mulch).
